Ray Shows, Artistic Director SPSQC

Violinist Ray Shows, a founding member of the Artaria String Quartet since 1986, created the Saint Paul String Quartet Competition in 2006. A professional chamber musician for over two decades, Ray is passionate about the curating and development of the medium and believes the SPSQC to be an excellent showcase for string quartet playing.

     
 

Silvester Vicic, Director Sundin Music Hall

The voice of the SPSQC, Silvester Vicic is a lifelong "Radio Guy" who spent a decade as an executive at Minnesota Public Radio. His opening remarks and witty musical history keep the SPSQC audience enchanted and the event flowing. As Director of Sundin Music Hall, Silvester's task is to galvanize the entire event and keep competitors, jurors and audience members happy and comfortable at the "Finals".

     
 

Vicki Blazing, Competition Manager

Vicki Blazing of Rochester, Minnesota is an indispensible part of the success of the SPSQC. Since its inception, Vicki has carefully organized all the backstage logistics and "behind the scenes" happenings of the competition.

     
 

Paula & Greg Stewart, Competition Assistants

Paula and Greg Stewart, violinists from Rochester, Minnesota, volunteer their energy and expertise to assist Vicki Blazing and Silvester Vicic in keeping the SPSQC flowing smoothly and comfortably for all attendees and competitors.
